At the Department of English Studies, I aim to add a vital 'S' to the concept of 'World Englishes' by centering the diverse linguistic and political realities of the African continent. We explore how English is lived and transformed as a tool for creativity, resistance, and digital storytelling. By engaging with grassroots narratives and interacting directly with African communities, you will learn to challenge global assumptions and understand the world from the 'periphery'.
