My research primarily focuses on the sociolinguistics of intercultural interaction. I am interested in why problems occur when people from different backgrounds interact and how they try to solve those problems. I use Language Management Theory to try to answer these questions.

ゼミ(演習科目)
In my seminar, students will deepen their knowledge about key topics in sociolinguistics, such as language and gender, race, social class, region, education, power and interaction, as well as learning about the research process. Students will conduct their own research projects each semester.
