2022年度から2024年度まで、学生たちの3年プロジェクトとして、石井紀子ゼミ「Seminar (North American History)1, 2」では、『コロナ禍と上智大学の歴史～学生たちの語りより～』の調査と執筆を重ねてまいりました。ソフィア・アーカイブスに残されている資料や名誉教授のインタビュー等に基づいて、学生たち自身が身近なテーマで歴史学を研究する面白さを発見してもらいたいという意図で始めた企画でしたが、図らずもコロナ前、コロナ禍、ポストコロナにおける本学での大学生活について、学生の目線から語る記録となりました。指導教員の石井紀子自身も卒業生ということもあり、学生の要望に応えて、英語学科の男女別クラスの成り立ちと廃止の経緯および英語学科の教員、学生のジェンダーバランスの変遷について、寄稿しました。学生の希望により、授業、STP等の課外活動、留学と進学のテーマごとに学生たちが調べてまとめました。STPを創設してくださった吉田研作名誉教授のインタビューも実施しました。内容は、主に「学生の目から見た英語学科の歴史」からスタートしましたが、最終年度の2024年度、イスパニア語学科の学生も2名参加したことから、最終的なタイトルは『コロナ禍と上智大学の歴史～学生の語りより～』と致しました。
編集につきましては、上智大学アメリカ・カナダ研究所の箕浦さんにご貢献いただきましたので、謝意を表します。
本日（2025年4月7日）、製本版2部をソフィア・アーカイブス（図書館9階）に、1部を上智大学アメリカ・カナダ研究所（図書館7階）に寄贈いたしました。
吉田研作名誉教授のインタビュー（オーラル・ヒストリー）につきましても、動画の限定リンクをソフィア・アーカイブスに寄贈いたしました。

Announcement:  The Student Project Essay, “Sophia and COVID-19: History of Students’ Lives from Students’ Eyes,” has been donated to the Sophia Archives and the Sophia University Institute of American and Canadian Studies

I am delighted to announce that two copies of the student project essay, “Sophia and COVID-19: History of Students’ Lives from Students’ Eyes” and one copy of the essay are now donated to the Sophia Archives (Library 9th floor) and the Sophia University Institute of American and Canadian Studies (Library 7th floor) respectively. The three-year project started as a seminar-joint project for the students to “do history.” Due to the timing from AY 2022 to 2024, it became a living history of students’ lives before, during, and after COVID. Upon students’ request, I, as a DES alumna, contributed an essay on the history of gender segregated classes and the gender balance of the Department of English Studies for the student body and the full-time faculty members. Students organized the writings and wrote essays on classes (curriculum), extracurricular activities, including the STP (summer teaching program), study abroad, and graduate schools. An interview with the STP founder, Professor Emeritus Kensaku Yoshida, was conducted. The link (limited usage) of Professor Yoshida’s interview (oral history) is also donated to the Sophia Archives.　I would like to express my gratitude to Ms. Mika Minoura of the Sophia University Institute of American and Canadian Studies, who contributed in editing the final volume.
