Learning is most powerful when we openly share experiences, ask meaningful questions, and collaborate creatively. Drawing from my work as a filmmaker, anthropologist, and researcher, I strive to create a space where theory meets practice, intellectual curiosity is sparked, and real-world connections are made. In our classroom, we’ll explore critical, creative, and collaborative ways of thinking through films, visual storytelling, and discussion-based projects. My teaching is rooted in inclusivity, and a deep respect for diverse perspectives and identities. We will explore themes such as gender, migration, memory, identity, and belonging, and your insights, experiences, and perspectives will be vital to enriching our discussions. You can expect an environment where experimentation is welcome, dialogue is central, and your voice matters. I see my role as a facilitator of learning—someone who provides guidance, encourages critical inquiry, and supports your academic development. You are invited to engage deeply with course materials, think independently, and critically engage with different perspectives and frameworks. Together, we will foster an environment where thoughtful dialogue, constructive feedback, and peer support are central to the learning process. I hope this course will not only sharpen your analytical and creative skills but also expand how you see the world and your place within it. Come with openness and curiosity, and let’s co-create something meaningful.
